Upon graduation I spent a year at Ft. Smith Junior College and 4 years at Rolla, Missouri attending Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy where they “gave me” a BS in Civil Engineering. During that period I married Beverly Price (class of ’59) and she has managed to put up with me for nearly 43 years.
I then spent 26+ years as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service. We did tours of duty in Kansas City, MO; Marysville, WA; Atlanta, GA; Cincinnati, OH; Reno, NV; Billings, MT; Oklahoma City, OK; Claremore, OK; and Tahlequah, OK. We are still in Tahlequah (actually 3 acres on Lake Tenkiller). Along the way we had 4 kids, 3 boys and a girl, who have all grown and left home. During this period I also picked up a MS in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
After retiring from the Public Health Service, I worked a year for Oklahoma Rural Water Association and 6 years for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. I went into business for myself for a couple of years as part owner of Three Rivers Engineering & Surveying.
I am now RETIRED.
Beverly and I enjoy our 3 grandkids, sporting events, and traveling. We’ve pulled our 5th wheel to numerous locations during the last 4 years. We try to attend all of the Arkansas home football and basketball games and are members of the Roadhogs.
